Our Services

Culturally Led Social & Emotional Wellbeing

Our core service weaves together yarning circles, storytelling, creative expression and cultural connection to strengthen social and emotional wellbeing. This approach is gentle, relational and deeply grounded in Aboriginal ways of healing — where people are supported to reconnect with identity, community, culture and their own inner voice.

Through guided yarns, reflective conversations, creativity and cultural grounding practices, we create safe, culturally held spaces that help individuals and groups feel seen, supported and strengthened. These sessions restore belonging, build confidence, and support people to grow in ways that are meaningful and sustainable.

Our work continues the evidence-based framework pioneered by Cyril Hennessy, which showed that connection, culture and community-led healing benefit all people, not just Aboriginal communities.
Culture and story are universal human needs.

Our Social & Emotional Wellbeing program is delivered in a way that is:

  • Aboriginal-led

  • Community-guided

  • Trauma-informed

  • Strengths-based

  • Culturally safe

  • Grounded in legacy

Acknowledgment of Country

The Hennessy Legacy Collective acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Darkinjung Country, where we live and work. We honour their enduring connection to land, waters, culture, and story.

Our Malyangapa family originates from Barkindji Country, along the Barka River and the sacred grounds of Mutawintji. Today, Darkinjung Country is our home, and we walk here with respect and gratitude.

We pay our respects to Elders past and present, whose knowledge and leadership continue to guide our work. We commit to empowering future generations to carry culture forward with strength.
